So now we have many NFL players not coming out of the locker room for the playing of the National Anthem. This disturbs me to no end. The nerve of these athletes choosing to protest racial inequality by disrespecting the very thing this country has given them the chance to do.
Play a game and literally make millions doing it. Without the freedom to do what you want (provided you work hard at it), they should think about how they would not be afforded that choice in a lot of other places in the world. No one should be denied the right to express their discontent with an issue, but a much better served and meaningful place to peacefully protest would have been outside police stations or City Hall. Instead, these ungrateful, grown men would rather offend the other 99.9% of the people of this country who are so thankful for their freedom. If they are so intent on making a public statement, why don`t they take a real stand and not come out of the locker room to play a game.
Would they be willing to forfeit a game`s salary? I don`t think so.
